Box Etiquette

We are in this together!

MidState CrossFit is the third space for many of us and we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that it takes a village. In the words of the wise Midstate athlete Zack “Children and Crumbs are an undefeated duo”. This is both hilarious and true but that does not mean we can’t try to fight the good fight. If your child has food and snacks please make sure they clean up after themselves. It greatly helps us keep MidState sanitary and safe.

“We support a gym rat lifestyle” - Help us keep you and everyone around you safe! Being aware of your surroundings is essential in a CrossFit box. Earbuds are not allowed during class participation but are allowed during open gym and during extra work in the back. Safety comes first, if lifting heavy barbells or anything when you need to be aware of your surroundings, the right answer is likely to not use earbuds. When in doubt always get with the managing coach on the floor to confirm best practice. We want everyone to feel safe and supported.

Mise en place- a French culinary phrase which means “putting in place” or “everything in its place.” - For MSCF this is about us doing the right thing and keeping things organized. Chalk goes in the chalk bucket. Rubber bands go away. Kids. Dogs. The list goes on and on. Coach Jason Martin once told Brian to “just keep doing the next right thing”. Little steps of awareness about our magical home will go a long way in keeping everyone safe, entertained, and inspired!
