Lady Luck Had Nothing To Do With It - The Numbers

MidState CrossFit takes a particular pride in our strong women. The fun we have with our trio of super human fit Dan’s is amazing but it cannot be understated how much hard work comes from our female athletes. We see you men, working hard, every day but for a moment, allow me the opportunity to highlight our mom’s, daughters, sisters, and lovely ladies who are absolutely apex predators. Our mama bears and lady lions are putting on quite the show this CrossFit Open.

Currently, leading our women’s division is our beloved Kate Samuelson (96%), a MidState Kids graduate, her internship and coaching development is likely to be the longest one ever. 2+ years of assistant coaching in the kids program before becoming the team lead for our most current MidState Kids cohort. She has her own story to tell and we are all witnessing her passion for fitness and doing hard things this year. Ranking currently in the 96th percentile of all athletes.

Old friend, stoic, and fierce competitor Alexa Devine (92%) has shown up to play!Alexa finished in the 97% of all athlete’s in 24.2. Alexa is a veteran in the CrossFit space locally, we are beyond proud of her effort. Now a mom, she inspires us that life can change but the competitive spirit can continue to thrive during all seasons of life.

Brittney (88%), Dominque (87%), Sabrina (85%), & Sydney Alaska (84%) are all women who exemplify what it means to be MidState Ohana. When I see these names as a coach I think, kindness, leadership, community, and fun. They lead from the front in all aspects of life. Calling it now, all these ladies are “dark horses” to win the whole thing.

Coach Gabby (78%), our CEO and MidState Mama Bear in currently in 7th place at MSCF, after 2 workouts she would not describe as “wheel house”. She is the unsung hero of MidState CrossFit, her quiet, steady hand, is what makes the MidState CrossFit’s magic. She wears many, many hats and still she lives in the top 10, wildly impressive.

Alejandra, is currently ranked at (80%) going into week 3. Brandy is ranked 69%, and Gabby Moreno is ranked at 70%. We would put our night class up against any box in Nor-Cal and our ladies would show up. These girls are all beauties and beasts!

A very special highlight goes to Brianna Martinez (95%), a noon class staple who has been doing CrossFit with MSCF for under one year. She came to us looking for what we do, build broad and inclusive fitness. She is champion boxer and a member of the junior olympics team for team USA. She is ranked 61st overall. A kind and lovely young lady who has tenacity. Hard work pays off!

There are so many other ladies we could highlight, it is tough being a girl, and MSCF is filled with tough, driven, well spoken, kind, powerful women who lead from the front and make our community better. So THANK YOU, MidState Mama’s you make the magic!
