  • Chief Emotional Support Officer

    Lilo is the four-legged alebrije of MidState CrossFit. You’ll find her roaming the gym, supervising workouts, stealing hearts (and maybe snacks), and offering pre & post-WOD cuddles. Equal parts coach’s shadow and community mascot, Lilo makes sure everyone feels the #MidStateOhana

  • Owner-Head Coach, CF-L3, ATA Trainer

    Brian was the first athlete at MidState and has been leading from the front ever since. As a CF-L3 and paramedic, he brings serious expertise and energy to every class. Known for his technical coaching and down-to-earth vibe, Brian makes sure everyone, from first-timers to seasoned athletes, feels challenged, capable, and part of the magic of MidState CrossFit.

    Gabby is the brains and heart behind MidState CrossFit. As chief programmer she is the chef in the back making the magic. With a background in gymnastics and nutrition, she blends strength with compassion. Whether she’s cheering you on or running the show, Gabby leads with passion, grit, and purpose.

    Erin is the glue that holds MidState together. A mama-bear and leader, and a huge part of bringing the vision of MSCF to life. As a CF-L2 and adaptive athlete coach, she brings heart and humor to every class. A loving mother of 6 and a dear friend. Her apparel business, Impressions Screen Printing, keeping the MSCF swag game unmatched.

    Originally from Santa Ana, Christina brings a creative flair and a whole lot of fun to the MidState crew. A CrossFit athlete since 2017, she has earned multiple coaching certifications and thrives on helping others grow. Expect bright outfits, bigger laughs, and plenty of dad jokes because every great coach needs a sense of humor and a solid lesson plan.

    Daniel’s been doing CrossFit for 9 years and coaching for 4—but he’ll be the first to admit burpees still win sometimes. As a CF-L1 and high school welding instructor, he brings structure, humor, and real-world grit to every class. A dad of two, dirt bike rider, and part-time hunter, Daniel thrives on challenge and lives by the motto: “You don’t know how fast you can go till you fall down.”

    Coach Fernando is a fan favorite for good reason. With a deep passion for both the art and science of coaching, he brings focus, energy, and professionalism to every class. Off the floor, he’s a devoted family man—and the same heart he brings home shows up in how he leads, teaches, and inspires his athletes.

    Coach Holmes, is a staple here at MidState CrossFit. His passion for coaching and training is unmatched. He is a leader not only with MidState CrossFit but regionally in the local “Throwdown” circuit and with the Atwater Penitentiary. He cares deeply about optimizing the human experience and starts each of his classes with a rhythm clap!

  • Coach, CF-L2

    Coach Rick—aka Uncle Rico—is one of MidState’s founding members and a key pillar of the community. Known for his consistency, killer golf swing, and top finishes in the MSCF Open and Games, Rick leads by example in and out of the gym. He’s also a dedicated family man, community leader, and MSCF council member who keeps the spirit (and standards) of MidState strong.

    Culture Coordinator

    Coach Amanda is another founding member of MidState CrossFit. Her expertise in healthy habits makes her one of a kind in the MSCF eco-system. Her tenacity for events and passion for optimizing the human experience has helped create the world-class social culture MidState CrossFit athletes have come to expect. A loving mother and loyal friend, we are blessed to have her supporting our athletes on their journey to “better”.

    Coach Kate is one of MidState’s proudest success stories—starting in the CF Kids program and working her way up from Cub to coach. She earned her CF-L1 at just 17 and now shines as both a kids coach and inspiration. Diagnosed with PANDAS early in life, Kate is proof that strength comes in many forms—and there’s no brighter light in the gym.

    James is another incredible MidState success story. One New Year’s Eve he was offered a membership on a dare. He never looked back. He has lost over 100lbs, found his sobriety, got right with god, and has become a lightening rod for anyone who wants to get in some extra credit. He loves “Big Saturday” workouts and is one of the most helpful and kind individuals you will ever meet.

    Ashley is a powerhouse inside and outside the gym. She first came to us because she wanted to learn how to climb ropes, not only did she master that skill but she ended up competing on the world stage at the Spartan World Championship in Sparta, Greece.

    Ashley leads by example. Her approach blends strength, wellness, and intention making her a role model for athletes at every level.

    Brit is equal parts beauty and beast—bringing both grit and grace into every workout. She’s a strong athlete with a positive spirit, always ready to put in the work and lift up the people around her.

    Beyond her own training, Brit plays a huge role in coaching our adaptive athletes. Her patience, encouragement, and belief in others make her a trusted leader in our community.

    Lillie brings precision, dedication, and a champion’s mindset to MidState CrossFit. As a young athlete, she competed as a Level 5 gymnast and earned the California State Championship on floor. Experiences that shaped her technical mastery and attention to detail.

    Known for her exceptional technique in the gym, Lillie coaches with patience and clarity.

    Lillie’s blend of skill, knowledge, and encouragement makes her an invaluable part of our community.

  • Coach, CF-L2, ATA Trainer

    Jon-Mag is a true MidState success story. Since starting CrossFit in 2020, he’s gone from athlete to intern to coach—growing not just in strength, but in mindset and purpose. His journey reflects hard work, humility, and full buy-in to the MidState community. Outside the gym, he serves as a firefighter, runs his own business (Pool Fresh INC), and is known to smoke some seriously good BBQ.

    Lori is one of the most tenured athletes and coaches at MidState CrossFit. A legend in her own time. A law enforcement officer, Lori uses CrossFit to stay prepared for the demands of her job. She serves as an educator for the first responder community.

    What truly sets Lori apart is her family-first mentality and the joy she brings to everyone around her. She’s a cornerstone of the community and a huge reason MidState CrossFit feels like family.

  • Coach, CF-L3

    Coach Dan Mast leads by example in and out of the gym. His discipline, humility, and consistency are what make him a force both on the competition floor and in the community. He’s proof that strength isn’t just about fitness, it’s about service, showing up, and helping others rise with you.

    Coach Dan, served as a Med-Evac Paramedic for 20 years with the California Air National Guard know throughout the land as “Hero Dan”. He is a legitimate folk hero within MSCF.

    Coach Moses has been with MidState CrossFit (MSCF) since 2014. To keep up with the physical and mental demands of law enforcement, Moses immediately found a home here.

    After Moses was a member of MSCF for over a decade, he decided to apply as a coach with MSCF. Moses loves to help others, and his faith keeps him anchored throughout life.
