The NorCal Classic & MidState CrossFit

Something to train for!

The CrossFit methodology we use every day here at MidState CrossFit is called General Physical Preparedness (GPP).

The idea behind GPP is simple: because we train across a variety of time domains: short, medium, and long and through different modalities like cardiovascular conditioning, bodyweight and gymnastics movements, and weightlifting, we prepare ourselves for whatever life may throw our way.

There is no “season.” There is no single end goal.

The goal is to be capable, any time, any place, to do whatever you want, for however long you want, at a level of excellence that you set for yourself.

We are just coming off the heels of our Super Bowl, the Raz’N Health Fitness Festival, and this year was a huge success. So many of our athletes had the opportunity to express their fitness, and even more members of our community got to see what we are all about.

Maybe it stirred their imagination. Maybe they started thinking about what they are capable of. Maybe they want to join in on all the fun, too.

Over the last several years, our relationship with the NorCal Classic in Sacramento has continued to grow. It’s an even larger event, but it is absolutely something all of our athletes can participate in.

36 divisions. Something for everybody.

The event begins with an online qualifier running January 7–24, 2027, and registration opens in a little over two weeks.

By adding an event like the NorCal Classic to your fitness calendar, you can essentially create four opportunities to peak and express your fitness throughout the year:

NorCal Classic Qualifier
CrossFit Open
Raz’N Health Fitness Festival
MidState Games

You don't have to be a competitive athlete to participate. You just need something to train for.

Consider it.
