MSCF, Gym Rats, & golden Bears
The Evolution of MidState CrossFit, The Gym Rats & The Golden Bear
One of my favorite parts of the last few years has been watching the evolution of MidState CrossFit. We’ve transformed, not just as a strength and conditioning club, but as a community.
There was a time when noon class was “The Dad Squad.” Moses, Cesar, Rodney, Brad, and me, navigating life as young dads, squeezing training in between work and responsibility. Fast forward to today: noon class BOOMS. It’s packed with wildly fit athletes. And yet, we’ve never lost the original vision of “Building Lifelong Fitness”. Nearly, thirteen years later, that commitment to lifelong fitness has also created something even more powerful: lifelong friendships.
The Committed Club — Our Gym Rats
The Committed Club (lovingly known as our Gym Rats) fills up every single month. That consistency creates results. Real results. And that’s why you came to us. Lifelong Fitness is not just an idea. It’s action. Its purpose in motion. It’s the daily decision to do the work. Some call it the WOD, others call it the “Magic Of MidState CrossFit”.
Each year, we crown a Golden Bear. The Golden Bear is chosen from the ranks of the Gym Rats. Every month Gym Rats earns one lottery ticket. Twelve months in the Committed Club means twelve entries into the Golden Bear drawing and the winner receives $400 off their membership.
We will announce this year’s Golden Bear following the conclusion of the CrossFit Open.
The Open & The Bigger Arena
Speaking of the Open…
With 49 athletes signed up this year, we rank in the top 10% of affiliate participation, incredible! Kudos to every one of you stepping into the arena and putting your name on the leaderboard. You are leaders! For those who may not know, the Open kicks off the CrossFit Games season. This year, the Games will be hosted in San Jose at the SAP Center.
We have an opportunity to secure group seating, but I’ll need a firm headcount. To lock in seats together, athletes will need to pre-pay for the full three-day event.
If you're interested, reach out to me or Gabby. I anticipate a deadline around the end of March. Once I have finalized details about the Games, I’ll share them in an updated WOD Blog.
More Than a Gym A Real Club House
We are participating in something really special. We call it MidState CrossFit but you all know it’s more than that. It’s a clubhouse. It’s our playground. It’s our laboratory. It’s a place where effort compounds, and it's one heck of a way to navigate this thing we call life, together
